April was a very busy month for ADB Creative Consulting. There was plenty of activity on a number of fronts, from play by play to media representation to consultation and event hosting.
In the opening two weeks of the League 1 Ontario regular season, I was fortunate to call a derby match in both the women’s and men’s competitions for the league’s livestreaming YouTube channel. In women’s L1O Premier division action, Woodbridge Strikers continued their dominance of local rivals Vaughan Azzurri from the previous season, earning a 2-0 victory on the first match day of the 2025 season.
The following week, in a Championship division clash, The Borough FC and local rival Master’s FA battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the first ever Scarborough derby, an event that drew a sizeable crowd to Birchmount Stadium despite below seasonal temperatures.
In advance of the match commentary for that Scarborough rivalry, I assisted The Borough FC in drawing some media attention to the club and its players. As of this writing, we had secured interviews with Rogers TV Durham, the GamePlan podcast and the Bluffs Monitor with other notable media also showing interest.
Some months ago, I was recruited by GTA soccer enterprise International FC Academy to help plan their 15th anniversary ceremony which took place on May 1. I also had the honour of hosting the prestigious event which featured a special appearance by Toronto FC GM Jason Hernandez as the Keynote speaker.
In addition, we generated plenty of media attention, including a feature report on the Italian edition of OMNI News, as well as future stories planned for CHIN Radio and LPC Media.
In between all this activity, I managed to find the time to speak to Jon Morgan and Mikael Rougette of Cambridge United, one of the new entries to League1 Ontario, for the league’s weekly YouTube show.
May promises to be just as busy with a second media campaign planned for Racing Madrid’s pending promotion in Spain, another L1O play by play assignment at Varsity Stadium, and further announcements planned with International FC as it launches a fundraising campaign in support of a stadium refurbishment in York Region.
